Community Work

I am a worker bee in the struggle for social justice. My values are rooted in Black and Indigenous liberation movements, past and present, local and global. I am inspired by the legacies of Josina Machel, Audre Lorde, Chrystos, Leila Khaled, Rita Bo Brown, and Irena Klepfisz. I am honored to learn alongside the brilliant people in Relationships Evolving Possibilities (REP), partner with other Jews in the anti-zionist movement, pay “back rent” to Makoce Ikikcupi, and collaborate with neighbors to change a street name in Minneapolis to Oyáte Avenue.

As a member of the Core Team of REP, I helped to create and implement this community safety strategy that aims to skill-up neighbors to call on each other in moments of crisis, with the goal of eliminating state interventions (aka, the police). All the work is grounded in our three core values: Black Love and Liberation, Ancestral Knowledge, and Radical Consent. Our work is in lineage and conversation with abolition projects across the country.

Using popular education models I have co-created and led numerous workshops on the subject of Palestine liberation, including “Judaism ≠ Zionism,” “State Violence Beyond Borders: U.S., Israel, and Tactics of Control,” and “Unlearning Zionism.”

Additionally, I was active in theater and dance as a stage and production manager from 2002-2015, most notably with Ananya Dance Theatre.
